What happened at the coronation?

Yesterday (September 26, 2025), Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja was installed as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland at Mapo Hall, Ibadan. The event was attended by high-ranking dignitaries including President Tinubu, Governor Seyi Makinde, and many traditional rulers.

Taye Currency was among the performers invited to entertain at that event. However, his performance stirred controversy and provoked negative reactions from various quarters.

While praising the new Olubadan, Taye Currency is reported to have included lines that were interpreted as veiled criticisms or jabs at other kings or traditional rulers present.
