Background of the Controversy

In 2019, Amusa publicly shared a video of herself taking an HIV test, which confirmed her negative status. She used the opportunity to encourage her fans to get tested and break the stigma around HIV/AIDS.

However, a recent post by an unnamed content creator included her name in a list of alleged HIV-positive individuals, sparking outrage.
Amusa’s Fiery Response

In an emotional Instagram video, the actress issued a strong warning:

“He will be my scapegoat and serve as a lesson to others. I am not HIV positive.”

She condemned the spread of false information, emphasizing how damaging such claims are to her mental health and family.

She questioned why content creators recklessly share unverified allegations without consequences.

Legal Action Imminent?

While Amusa did not confirm if she has filed a lawsuit, her statement suggests she intends to hold the creator accountable. False claims about someone’s health status can lead to defamation lawsuits, especially when they harm a person’s reputation.

Fans and colleagues have rallied behind her, condemning irresponsible content creation and calling for stricter measures against fake news.
