The Executive Chairman of Apapa Iganmu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Alh. Olawale Jimoh Saliu has officially received his Certificate of Office from the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, following a successful swearing-in ceremony held on Sunday, July 27, 2025.

Spectrum reports that the event, which took place at the Lagos State Government House, Alausa, was attended by top government officials, party leaders, traditional rulers, and supporters.

It marked the formal assumption of office for the Chairmen of all 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) across the state.

Governor Sanwo-Olu, while presenting the certificates, urged the newly sworn-in council chairmen to embrace transparency, accountability and people-oriented governance.

He emphasized the critical role of local government in addressing the day-to-day needs of citizens and sustaining the administration’s development agenda at the grassroots.

Alhaji Olawale Jimoh, a man with good heart and the love of his people expressed gratitude to the people of Apapa Iganmu for their trust and support.

His election is seen by many as a reflection of his track record in building grassroots politics, youth empowerment, and public service delivery.

With the formal swearing-in now complete, Alhaji Olawale Jimoh


is set to begin his new term with a focus on consolidating existing projects and introducing new initiatives to meet the growing needs of the fast-developing council area.
