Today, August 22, 2025, was a challenging day for our community.
A fire outbreak erupted near The Iron and Plank Market in Apapa-Iganmu's Badia Railway area and tested our collective strength.
The blaze, reported around 12:25PM, caused concern due to its proximity to an LPG station.
We extend our deepest sympathies to those who suffered losses and damages. We pray that God guides, protects, and restores those affected, granting them the strength to rebuild and recover.
We're grateful that no casualties were recorded, thanks to the swift response of our community members, the Federal Fire Service, and the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service. Their bravery and coordinated efforts prevented further devastation.
As we reflect on today's events, we're reminded of the importance of fire safety.
We urge all residents to exercise caution and responsibility with fire. Let's manage our kitchens with care, handle electrical appliances properly, and keep flammable substances away from potential ignition sources.
Together, we'll heal and rebuild. We thank God for sparing lives today and appreciate every individual and agency that contributed to our safety.
Let's continue to support one another and work towards a safer, stronger Apapa-Iganmu.
Best regards,
Hon. Jimoh Olawale Saliu
Executive Chairman,
Apapa-Iganmu LCDA
